MIDWEEK LENT SERVICES

Wednesdays at 7:00 PM

Starting on Wednesday, February 22nd at 7:00 pm. our congregation will be holding special services to ponder again our Lord’s great sacrifice to save us from our sins.  This year’s theme is “See His Cross.”  We will view with mixed emotions once again our Lord’s passion.  We will see the horror and sorrow of Jesus suffering for our sins.  Yet at the same time we view with gratitude and peace that through His sufferings, Jesus won us forgiveness and eternal life.

February 29th               “Shed no tears for Jesus”

March 7th                     “It’s God’s plan from beginning to end”

SUNDAY SCHOOL SCHEDULE:

February 26th  Quail and Manna      Exodus 16,  Memory Passage: Psalm 118:1

WHAT WILL YOUR LEGACY BE?  When the Lord calls you home to heaven, what impact will you leave behind? A part of your legacy is shaped through your will and your beneficiary designations. Did you know your government provides you with some tax-advantaged ways for you to remember the Lord’s work—advantages that can increase your charitable gift by up to 50 percent. Leaving a gift for ministry can leave a gospel legacy that will enable others to hear God’s promises of love and forgiveness—a legacy with eternal implications.   To assist you with your estate plans, our church is sponsoring a Christian estate planning seminar on Sunday, February 26th.  One part of a Christian estate plan is making sure your will is up-to-date. Come and find out why!

You will be guided through questions like:

  • When was the last time you reviewed your will?
  • Does your will include a Christian preamble?
  • Are your life insurance and retirement account beneficiary designations consistent with your will or living trust?
  • Has your personal representative moved out of state?
  • Have you considered an income for life agreement with the WELS Foundation, Inc.?
  • Have the needs of your beneficiaries changed?
  • Do you have a durable power of attorney and a living will?
  • How will your family deal with these issues?
  • Where do you begin? How much time will it take? How much will it all cost?

Christian giving counselor, Pastor Mike Hatzung, from our synod will be here on February 26th during our Education Hour to answer your questions about developing your Christian estate plan.  You will also have an opportunity to schedule a private consultation with him to have your questions answered. This is a service offered to you by our synod. It is confidential and at no cost.

LOST & FOUND BOX:   Have you lost an item? Please check the lost & found box in the entryway.

Heaven & hell - Word & Sacraments

Roles of men & women - Marriage & divorce

Sufferings & blessings - Prayer & answers

One Bible & different faiths

Beginning of life & ending of life … and ?????

In this 9-lesson course we will look at these issues and many more.  This course is designed to introduce the student to the basic truths of Christianity as revealed in the Bible and as confessed by our Lutheran Church.  This class is especially good for the newcomer to Bible study, but is also good for the veteran Bible student.  We meet on Thursdays at 7:30 PM.   If this time does not work for you, we will try to set up individual times.  If you are interested and would like to register for the class or want more information, please call Pastor at 252-5088.

HELP OUR PRESCHOOL MINISTRY:  If you are a Kwik Trip customer and cardholder and would like to help out our church’s preschool, we have something for you to consider.  You are able to donate your Kwik Trip rebate checks to Precious Pebbles Preschool, and Kwik Trip will add an additional percentage to the rebate.  If you wish to apply for the program, please call toll-free 1-888-736-5945 or visit www.kwiktrip.com to sign up for the program and designate Precious Pebbles Preschool as your charity. An instruction sheet on how to apply online is in the entryway.  We also collect Kwik Trip milk jug and bag tops, which we turn in for educational rewards.  They can be placed in the designated can in the kitchen.
